STAT+: Digital pharmacy startup Thirty Madison taps former Lilly exec as president

After nearly three decades working at two of the world’s pharmaceutical giants, Michelle Carnahan is going digital. The former senior vice president of general medicines for Sanofi’s North America division has stepped into a new role as the president of Thirty Madison, a digital pharmacy that sells medications online and delivers them to your door.

The company is part of a rapidly growing sector of virtual care that includes businesses like Hims & Hers, Ro, and Capsule — all of whom have been racing to maximize their appeal since Amazon Pharmacy entered the sector late last year. Carnahan hopes to steer the company into its next phase, which includes striking partnerships with employers and payers to offer its services as a benefit, she told STAT.
