How do you treat jock itch?
You can treat jock itch with antifungal medicine. Often people can use an over the counter cream for this. However if that is not working, it’s a good idea to see a health care provider. Then can either prescribe a stronger cream or prescribe a pill that is an antifungal medicine you take by mouth. They can also make sure it’s jock itch and not another kind of rash.
It’s also important to:
- Keep your groin clean and dry
- Wear loose clothing that doesn’t rub against the rash
- If you can use a different towel to dry your groin after showering so that you don’t spread the infection to the rest of your body
